Meet the Data team

Darren McVee, Assistant Director – Operations

Darren McVee oversees the Hub’s Operations division which includes the Data team.  He has more than 15 years’ NHS experience in IT systems and analytics. Nationally, he links with GS1 for Scan4Safety, DH for Atamis Change Assurance and Data Quality, and recently, the NHSE Cybersecurity Associates Network. The goal of his role is to find where technology and information can increase efficiency and deliver innovative solutions.

James Smith, Business Information Analyst – Operations

James Smith worked in the NHS, in the community and at a trust, before joining the Hub in 2019. He provides dashboards and applications for both internal and external stakeholders, using platforms such as Power BI. He is also working to deliver several KPI dashboards for trusts.

James produces ad-hoc data analysis and helps to run data-focused projects, advising on various spend analysis systems such as the Spend Comparison Service.

Stewart Palmer, Business Information Analyst – Operations

Stewart Palmer ensures the Hub’s procurement specialists have all the data and information they need to help them with their work in supporting trusts, ICBs and ICSs to deliver best value, sustainable, innovative procurement solutions. Stewart’s focus is around three main data areas – customer contracts, supplier deliveries and the supply of market information to enable more informed decision making.

Gizem Michopoulos, Systems Process Lead – Operations

Gizem Michopoulos oversees and coordinates the Hub’s business processes and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and align with organisational strategic priorities. Her focus is on managing change and driving process improvements through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as well as monitoring management information (MI) performance metrics.
