Contrast Media and Barium Products (Ref: 2021/S 000-027617)
Background
The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub initiated a project to optimise the utilisation of contrast media and barium products, consolidating the annual £13 million spend across the NHS Commercial Alliance regions.
Developed in collaboration with the Contrast Media Stakeholder Group, the service specification incorporated valuable input from stakeholders throughout the procurement process. Following a comprehensive OJEU open tender, the Hub awarded a multi-provider framework agreement for the supply of contrast media and barium products. This framework enables trusts to access these products in a compliant, consistent, and cost-effective manner.
